Descriptive and Non-descriptive
They are a cattle breed of Kerala, originating in the mountain range of Kasaragod district. The cows are known for their tremendous milk-producing ability. Their nutrition-dense milk is highly valued. The cattle have a high awareness of the environment and freely graze the mountain regions of Kerala.
They are a dwarf breed native to the densely forested Malenadu region, of the Western Ghats, Karnataka, India. These short-statured cows are known for their adaptability and disease resistance. Their milk and urine are considered to possess high medicinal value. The cattle can also solely sustain on grazing the forest and rural terrains. Once a nondescript variety, they are now officially regarded as a distinct breed.

Kangeyam, locally dubbed as Kongu Maadu, is a popular, indigenous breed, known for its strength and sturdiness. It produces high nutrition milk, free of bad fat. This breed is trained in Jallikattu owing to its aggressive nature.
The Kankrej is an Indian breed of Zebu cattle. Originating from the arid region of the Rann of Kutch in the state of Gujarat and Rajasthan, Kankrej is one of the heaviest Indian cattle breeds. They are very hardy and active and were regarded as a powerful draft cattle breed. The breed is also raised as a dairy cow in India.
Gir is one of the primary Zebu breeds originating in India. They are known for their tremendous milk-producing qualities. The Gir is distinctive in appearance, typically having a rounded and domed forehead, long pendulous ears and horns which spiral out and back. They were first bred in southwest India in the state of Gujarat and have since spread to the neighboring states of Maharashtra and Rajasthan.
