What is Ghee?

Ghee a delightful derivative of desi cow’s milk which enriches our body with nutrition and nourishes it from within. Originated from India before 1500 B.C, Hand churned A2 Ghee is referred as ‘’Liquid Gold’’ for its enormous health benefits. It is one of the five ingredients of ‘’Panchagavya’’ (which is called as ‘’sarva nivarani’’ in Ayurveda) and used as a key ingredient for most of the ayurvedic medicines. Vedic Process of making hand churned ghee  

  1. Satvik milk from free grazing pure Indian cow is procured. 
  2. Milk is boiled and cooled. 
  3. Boiled Milk is then cultured for 8 to 14 hours to curd. 
  4. Cultured Curd is churned bi-directionally in hand with wood to form butter. 
  5. Butter is boiled and the clarified butter obtained is the ‘’Ghee”.

Faster and continuous rotation of wood in both clock and anti-clockwise during churning process results in collision of protons and electrons. This collision brings presence of Gods particle which gives positive energy while consuming the ghee. 

Importance of Ghee in Ayurveda 

Tridoshic and Bio enhancing characteristics of Hand churned A2 Ghee, gives it a significant importance in Ayurveda. According to Ayurveda, any disease is due to imbalance of three doshas (Vata, Pitta & Kapha) in the body. Only few tridoshic superfoods can balance the three doshas, Ghee is one of them.   

Ayurvedic text like Chakra Samhita mentions ghee as,  

  1. Yogavahi – a catalytic agent that carries the medicinal properties of herbs into the seven dhatus or tissues of the body 
  2. Samskar Anuvartan – when it is processed with herbs, it does not lose its own qualities while imbibing the attributes of the herbs added to it 

Thus, Ghee acts a best carrier medium and a key ingredient in many ayurvedic formulations.
